... Wow. Yet another Wham Episode. Well, here's a reaction post. MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD: YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I had thought of Sayaka eventually turning into a Witch but gosh, that was pretty fast. Her overpowered, berserker Puella Magi self barely lasted a whole episode before her dark feelings turned her Soul Gem into a Grief Seed (and suddenly, these terms get meaningfully and painfully clear). The question from here on is basically "who's gonna have to get her hands dirty?" - I'm betting on Kyouko.

"Incubator" and "Puella Magi"... I'm curious about Kyubey's objectives. Considering the way he acts, there's a pretty good chance he made every single Witch out there. Is he just a white-furred devil incarnation selling deals? He's pretty insistent about getting Madoka to turn into a Puella Magi (and eventually a Witch), which indicates he's got a plot going on. Probably a nasty one.

About Homura... considering the Kyubey treats Homura, the fact that he "did and didn't make a contract with her" (suggesting he's the only Incubator, but doesn't remember her) and the fact that she herself accepts Kyubey's guess that she's from another timeline, I'm guessing Homura's from a dark future where Madoka's been turned into a Witch already, and that she came back to now to prevent just that (because Madoka as a Witch is probably way too powerful for any Puella Magi - the only way to stop her is to prevent her very existence). She's probably one of that future Madoka's (close) friends, which would explain the way she acts around her even though they barely had three or four real conversations in their lives (from present Madoka's perspective). Perhaps a second, present Homura will appear eventually?
She'll probably be way more friendly than the one we already know about (not having been broken by Madoka's dark fate yet).
In any case, I'm pretty sure Homura and Madoka aren't the same person (and I hope they aren't, I guess - in a way, that'd be too Fate/Stay Nightish).

Oh, and Kyubey having multiple bodies? Awesomely well placed. He's got a pretty nasty way of staying alive.

Among a few other things... "Witches are powered by curses." If true, that statement will probably make Sayaka an awfully strong Witch - she's falling from a pretty high grace. Also, I suspect Puella Magis to be biologically immortal (would make sense for a stone, wouldn't it?).

That'll be all for now.
... Six days before the next episode. That'll be LONG.

EDIT 1:
Incidentally, a few more things:

* "That one's special." (from Homura to Mami, episode 3) - Perhaps she was "special" in a "that Familiar's original Witch was special" way? Did Charlotte (the original) know Homura? Did Homura kill a few Charlotte copies before and know Mami wouldn't be prepared to beat one?

* I'm curious about the original-to-artificial Witch ratio. Incidentally, are original Witches stronger than their spawn?

* Apparently, Sayaka's already de facto a Witch at the end of the episode... yet, most Witches (in fact, every single Witch we've seen so far, Sayaka excluded) are bizarre from a biological point of view. Which leads to me guessing Witches (and Puella Magis?) are able to transform their body to fit their needs (become stronger, more viable, etc.). The longer, the weirder: they see less and lesser reasons to try and maintain an human morphology (Charlotte is a caterpillar).

I'll edit again when/if something else comes up.

EDIT 2:
Now re watching the episode for a more advanced analysis...
* The "statistics" Homura mentions when discussing Walpurgis with Kyouko probably come from her future timeline. Or, from future timelines. There's an echo with the Puella Magi wiki's "Cramer Theory" (variation D).
* I'm starting to wonder about Kyubey's sincerity. Is he able to lie? There seems to be a set of rules he has to follow, but considering what he tells Madoka just before getting "killed"... Is he a good liar (never lying unless there's an immediate and incredibly major interest in doing so - it'd apparently be the first time), or is Madoka really that much of a potential Magi?
* It looks like either Madoka can unconsciously hinder Homura's magic and ability (Homura's unable to follow her once in tears) or Homura's magic reserve is reaching its limits. Or, perhaps she's loosing her powers because of emotional stress. Either way, Homura's probably at her weakest point so far.
* The checkerboard motive we see just before Sayaka's transformation reminds me of the opening sequence of the first episode. I don't think that's a random coincidence. Here's a quick comparison (Episode 8 on the left, Episode 1 on the right):

* While we're at it... remember that opening sequence? Homura versus an huge Witch, with Madoka and Kyubey watching? I'm betting what we see is either the Walpurgis (whatever that is) or Sayaka. And guess what? Homura's been getting weaker and weaker, and she gets pwned by her opponent in the opening sequence (which possibly fits her current power level). Combine that with the fact that original Witches are possibly stronger than their copies and you get a plausible scenario for Sayaka's Witch Barrier and battle in episode 9 (or 10).

EDIT 3:
* Just realised the Soul Gem are shaped like... eggs. What happens when they grow too dark? They hatch. Basically, Puella Magis use Grief Seeds to keep from maturing (and, Sayaka's transformation into a Witch certainly denotes a maturation). Peter Pan anyone? Witches are adults; they became unable to overcome their sadnesses and grieves the way a Puella Magi still can. Basically, there's a very strong relation between Puella Magis and human childs, and between Witches and human adults (and that's not just a semantic relation). Homura, being the irregular, took a third option and crafted an emotional shield to keep on being a Puella Magi even though her decisions are relatively mature (it's not that she doesn't feel emotions, rather, she refuses to give into them).

If this theory's right, the act of purifying one's Soul Gem with a Grief Seed's aura is basically equivalent to erasing the influence one's sadness has on oneself - the feeling remains, but its power is gone. Once the Puella Magi is too sad to even wish to keep on fighting, she'll stop using Grief Seeds, start producing curses and stop using wishes;  her own Soul Gem will eventually turn into a Grief Seed, i.e. hatch. Notice the cracks.

* Also, considering the data we have about Mami, Sayaka, Kyouko and Homura, there's another thing that's odd about Homura - she's the only one able to use more than one kind of weapon (Mami's got muskets, Sayaka uses swords and Kyouko's a lance wielder). She might have made a combat-related wish to get these advantages (or, be benefiting from more than one wish - possible considering Sayaka and Kyouko's wishes didn't directly affected them and Homura's abilities have a pretty extensive range).

IN-Kyuubey-TOR.

Is that a wish worth trading away your soul?".

Actually, Homura's weapons are very unlike Mami's... they don't even seem to be magical. Maybe Homura prepared before all this happened, and fetched some real world military weapons to use as a complement of her time manipulation abilities (grenades, C4, flashbangs, pistols, shotguns, etc... it all fits the theme of present-day weapons).
...except for her character design picture, where she is seen with a bow, just like Madoka. But then again, Sayaka is seen with a western sword + small shield rather than just a katana.

I don't know about that. While I do agree about her arsenal being set in a present-day technology frame (2010s' modern warfare), I'm pretty sure it's still magical by nature, the same way Mami's muskets and Sayaka's swords are.
Two arguments would (from my point of view) point toward such an affirmation:
* Even though I do agree about Homura being exceptionally good at hiding her intends and powers, I don't think hiding a full war arsenal in her dress is something she (or any other Puella Magi for that matter) could pull off. Rather, I'd argue she creates, transforms or materializes previously stored weapons to fight. But then again, wouldn’t a magically stored ordinary weapon become magical the moment it was altered by magic, the same way Sayaka’s bat became magical whenever Mami used her magic on it?
* I might be wrong, but I don't think a Witch can be defeated by non-magical assault (if they could, it would make it possible for any Puella Magi to bring normal humans into a Witch's barrier with an insane amount of weapons and to basically overkill the Witch without having to consume any form of magic at all, thus solving her Grief Seed supply problem by preserving her Soul Jewel in a perfect state… and considering the way PMMM's world works, I'd be pretty surprised if such a possibility existed but hadn't been tried before). Thing is, Homura beats Charlotte with time manipulation (to dodge) and C4 explosives, never using any (other?) form of magical assault even though she clearly does have such an ability (demonstrated by purple flashes in episodes 1, against Kyubey, and 8, against Sayaka - even though she's interrupted, that one time).
* Now that I think about it, when Kyouko grabs Homura in the back in episode 8, Homura's able to release a flashbang from her shield without having to move an inch. There's definitely some form of magic at work here.

To sum things up, I think most Puella Magis are restricted to an (usually) specific weaponry, in addition to any purely magical power they're able to use. These weaponries can vary in size (number of available weapons at the beginning of a battle - Kyouko’s only got one lance at any given time, whereas Sayaka and Mami run virtually unlimited inventories), variety (number of different weapons the Puella Magi is able to create / generate / produce - Homura’s the only one to have displayed more than one kind of weapon so far, though) and tech level (pretty self-explicit, and definitely present considering how wildly different weapons can be - Homura’s present-day arsenal and Sayaka’s 18th to 19th century swords aren’t exactly comparable technologically).

Then again, perhaps you're right and Homura's only using an hyperspace storage for her otherwise ordinary arsenal… but that'd surprise me - it still wouldn't justify her being able to beat Charlotte with ordinary explosives only (unless Witches are susceptible to non-magical assaults, which is potentially plausible even though I don't think that's the case).

Terminology
Ummm... Why do you use "soul jewel" instead of "soul gem"? That's not nitpicking - obviously everything here has a special meaning, and I suspect that the SG vs. GS combination is also intention by the creators.

Re: Terminology
... Crap. Didn't even realize I was using the wrong term.

It's an honest mistake. I'll correct it, thanks for pointing it out!

... I suspect Nanoha's "Jewel Seeds" got mixed up with "Soul Gems" in my mind (I watched Nanoha in the last few weeks). Should have been a little more careful ^^".

Metformin, alone or in combination with clomid, will not increase your chance of multiples. Clomid can increase your chances. Good luck! I am on my first cycle 100mg and have had no side effects as of yet. I finished taking 11 days ago and have been fine. I am also surprised this talks about the fact it only helps you ovulate from what I have gethered it also helps to produce better eggs. Some people ovulate but dont conceive because the eggs are not viable. Anyway Im praying this is our only round. Best wishes to everyone.

Bonjour ! ~ Hello! +license

Je me présente, Kalista, apprentie sorcière et auteure amatrice. Enchantée de faire votre connaissance !
Selon mon humeur, j'écris en français ou en anglais.

Name's Kalista, I'm an apprentice witch and I write a little. Glad to meet you!
I write in English or in French, depending on my mood. There might be a few bilingual posts, but I realised a few months ago this tends to kill the magic, so... I'll probably avoid these.
